Teaching Assistant Position in Q4:  “Data Science in Technische Bestuurskunde”  For all TU Delft students – deadline 11 March 

We are looking for teaching assistants for the course TB142Ic “Data  Science in Technische Bestuurskunde”, given in the first year of the BSc  Technische Bestuurskunde, and starting in late April. The position runs  from the end of March until early July. 

REQUIREMENTS 

You meet the following criteria: 

• Interested in teaching 

• Solid Python experience for data-analysis (numpy,pandas,matplotlib) • Experience with modelling and data visualization 

• Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence • Passion for understanding and communicating the limitations of data driven and AI approaches and how to use it responsibly 

• Comfortable with programming tools such as ‘git’, ‘github’, ‘conda’  and ‘command prompt or terminal’ 

• Understanding of AI tools impact programming and learning to program • Students from all faculties may apply 

• Dutch language is a plus but not necessary 

CONDITIONS 

A contract for ~110 hours (based on 6-7 hours per week for 16 weeks from March – July). Payments are done based on hours worked via FlexDelft (https://flexdelft.nl/en/information-for-students/). The total number of  hours may vary based on course developments. 

EXPECTATIONS 

You are expected to assist with: 

• Preparations for the course 

• Modernising the course 

• Developing ipython notebooks for labs and practical assignments • Planning and support for offline and online teaching 

• Brightspace support 

• Supervision of working groups and assignments 

• Giving feedback on assignments and project work 

TEAM 

You will make a vital contribution to the modernization of data and  digitalization education in the Bachelor Technische Bestuurskunde, and to  advancing teaching methods to account for the effects of AI on learning.  You will be a part of a team with teachers and professors that can give  you valuable input and advise on your teaching challenges.
