Description

Summer job for Student Assistant on Research Project on the mental health Policy Impact on Suicide Attempts and self-harm incidents in youth (PISA)

Company: TU Delft.

Type: TA Vacancy.

Language: Dutch preferred, but also open to English-speaking students.

Description:

Increasing numbers of youth think about ending their lives. Meanwhile, accessibility of mental healthcare is poor, with substantial waiting lists for youth with suicidal thoughts. It is unknown what the impact is of (changes in) mental healthcare policy on the number of suicide attempts and self-harm incidents in youth.

We are seeking a student assistant to join our research project on the mental health Policy Impact on Suicide Attempts and self-harm incidents in youth (the PISA study). The student can also write his/her Master thesis on this topic, but this is not a requirement. The study, which will run until December 2024, is a collaboration between TU Delft, Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Emergency Department at Haaglanden Medical Centre, The Hague. You will work from home or at TU Delft.

Tasks:

You will:

  • contribute to the development of a research database.

  • analyze the youth mental healthcare policy context in Rotterdam-The Hague.

  • contribute to the development of a research publication.

Target group:
You:

  • are currently enrolled in a Master's degree program, or will be from September onwards.

  • have excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • are proficient in English and, preferably, Dutch.

Period of time: We expect the paid work will take 20-25 8-hour days. Timing is flexible and can be agreed upon. The work can be concentrated in the summer, or be spread out over a longer period of time.

Contact person: To apply, please email your motivation and availability to Naomi van der Linden, n.vanderlinden@tudelft.nl.
