The company Optiport/KOTUG is looking for a student to help optimize port services in Rotterdam and Long Beach (LA).
Earlier research shows that decentralized ports with licensed operational services are most receptive for the idea of Port Call Optimisation. What could for other ports be the roadmap to get to this same stage?
- Further define the best port set up that will be receptive for the port call optimization concept (organizational, spatial, other factors possible)
- Define a (generic) tool to identify the gaps between a current set up of a port and this “most receptive” set-up
- Define a model that can predict the success of the various Port Call Optimisation tools for this “most receptive set-up”. Focus on quantitative research.
- Quantify the actual impact of a centralized scheduling tool in line with Port Call Optimisation
